Band class 10/30/09

Since it is close to Halloween, today in band class, we got to dress up in our costumes to school we and we had the concert just the night before. But maybe it was just cause of the concert, I do not have any clue I am not the teacher. But we sat and did nothing. While almost nothing we first turned in our concert music that we had just played the night before. Then we went in to the choir room cause there both used by Mrs. Horne, and plus the computer we in the band room did not work. But anyways we went and we watched Cars in on the smart board. So today we did not really do a whole lot of stuff today or else I would wright a whole lot more then I already have well actually maybe it would not be a whole lot more or mabe it would not be more at all.

10/29/09 band class / dress rehersule

Today we practiced our concert. But the best thing happened today in third hour (which is L.A. which I do not really like). What we did was we got to miss it to go over to the high school to do our dress rehearsal and we got to miss third and fourth hour. So when we got there well first thing first thing first we had to carry some stuff over there and I ended up on getting to carry the stupid snare drum head all the way over to the high school and it got very heavy after a little while. Which was around the time I went through the door. No not the front door of the school but the door of the band room. I was carrying it one handed. Also one of my bizarre friends, Nathan punched me before I left. Cause I told him that we were steeling Mrs. Horne from the brass class. But we also took her from the from fourth hour to but by than we did not know right at that present time. But it was very fun.

Band Class 10/26/09

Today in band class we got some more music in class for the concert in November. We choose them but we had to close our eyes and with my luck I got the mallet percussion on on song. With even more luck it ended up being three pages long and one hundred and thirty five measures long and I get to play one hundred and ten measures. Cause I don`t play twenty five measures. Oh and the two songs that I got were The Gates of Minotaur and Rites of Tamburo. Rites of Tamburo is the three page long song. On The Gates of Minotaur I play the snare drum, but I can get though it. I told Mrs. Horne that she just likes torture us.

Band Class 10/23/09

Today in band class we practiced for our concert. But I don`t remember what all we did. But today I missed math class cause we practiced with the orchestra and the orchestra teacher is only there during sixth hour. So when we first got the music Mrs. Horne mad it a goal to drowned out the orchestra at the end of Carmina Burana. and so today we did that and Mrs. Dunn asked us to let them hear the melody and we all went aw man. Cause drowning out the orchestra was very fun. After class we were messing with the drum set and Mrs. Horne got mad at us cause she did not want Damion thinking that any one call get on it. So I gave her a nickname just like I told her it was Mrs. keep every one but Logan and Alex off of the drum set. Yes that is a Very long nickname but very true so I do not thik that it matters. If it matters to you THEN JUST GET OVER IT cause you will not die. But if you do mabe then I could atlest pratend that I realy care cauce I always say that.

Band class 10/22/09

Today in band class Mrs. Horne told us that instead of practicing with the orchestra today we would play with them tomorrow. Then she told us to get out Concerto for Garage Band which I play the vibes on and I kind like it now. Cause Mrs. Horne took the mallet players for that song into the vocal room and showed them the notes and I learned a lot during that. So while we were practicing the son as a class we stopped once so she could watch Alex (on this song he plays the drum set). Logan and me looked for Kyle, but did not find him. But I went and sat on a table. So when the entire class went to play it Logan did not know where I had went to. Then I said "Logan I am over here." Then he started joking that I had the ring (Off the Lord of the Rings) on. But of course it does not really exist, that is why he was joking. Then I said that I was not there then Mrs. Horne started to whack me with the mallet that she had and it hurt. But it was all in good humor. Then they played The Adams Family.

band class 10/21/09

Today in band class we practiced for our concert which is on the twenty ninth. We first started out with a song that is called Carmina Brana (which I get to play the gong on yeah!). Then we played Rockin` Halloween (which I get to play the tambourine on). Then we played The Adams family (which I don`t get to play anything on). But that is not all that we get to play on in our concert that is only what we played on and what we are playing with the Orchestra. We are also playing Concerto for Garage band (which I play the vibes on NO fun to me). We may also play Gorge of the Jungle (which I play tyhe bell set in and I hat the bell set almost as much as I hate the vibes). I do kind of know Concerto for Garadge band but not Gorge of the Jungle. My friend Kathy plays in Carmina Barana, but she plays the bells. She also plays in The Adams family but in that one she playes the bass drum. Well while they were playing that I cleand up the band room the best that I could like put the stands away and the stuff not beeing used at the peresent time. I did take care of a lot.

band class 10/20/09

Today in percussion class we were in the library/computer lab and we were on www.thelessonroom.com. But little did I now I would be on www.myaccess.com in language arts to work on our assignment from Box Elder. I also did not know that I would be talking about www.youtube.com in P.E. after we finished our S.C.O.R.E card. But that is not what I`m writing about. I am here to wright about what happened in band class not what happened in all my other classes just my band class.

OK so well we were supposed to be using Microsoft office word to type in and www.thelessonroom.com to get the stuff that we were supposed to type about. Mrs. Horne wanted us to watch a certain video but it did not work cause the school district had blooked it cuase it was from www.youtube.com and they blook that stuff cause it is not always the best and they do not take chances when it comes to that saftey of the students. But some of the movies did work.

Monday percussion

With the end of this you will have to go and highlight the words. Cause some thing is wrong with it and it does not want so it for some stupid reasonit does not whant to so it. Today in band class we had fun just like we all ways do. Today we started out with practicing our playing test. So a friend of mine (Kathy) got out the vibes and wads playing them today.I on the other hand got out the big marimba and took off the cover and went to get some of the mallets that have yarn on them to practice my test and when I got back Kyle and some girl that I don`t remember her name where there and so I took the mallets back got my stuff and got some hard mallets and went to practice on one of the bell sets. But be for I started to practice I went up to Mrs. Horne and told her that I had forgot to wright down this blog address cause I set it up on Sunday and was busy and forgot to do so. Then I told her that I would wright about how I set up the marimba and it was stolen from me. But the girl let me take her spot on the marimba. So I then went and practiced on the marimba and she practiced her drum test. Then Mrs. Horne had ever one switch and after a while Mrs. Horne had every one on there drum test. We all counted the the bets in the measure. Then we all played and counted the first four line. Our drum test is ten whole lines long and it takes up the entire page. That is one long playing test for a class that is made up of just seven eighth grade and one ninth grade student. But I think that we may be able to get through it.

Thursday percussion class

Thursday in band class Mrs. Horne took the nine percussionists down to the Drama room. To get the piano, the rest of the chairs, and the risers which were all used in the band and choir concert Wednesday lunch period. The piano does not have wheels so we put it on a big cart along with the chairs and me and a friend of mine pushed the cart all the way back to the band room. my friend lead the way and I pushed the cart. Then we took the chairs of and put them away then we put them away then we took the piano of and Mrs. Horne plugged the piano back up to the computer and then we took the cart out to the janitor whch was only by the band room door.
